Here we are 10 years later and I have traveled the world trying sushi! Yes, sushi super fresh from the ocean is the best but I'm going to tell you Kitaro is hands down better than places in the city. It's a hole in the wall next to "Jewels" in a predominantly European burb but it's doing something right because the sushi melts in your mouth. It may be a little pricy but the service is always good, take out is always super quick and the sushi is dreamy. Keep up the good work! My fav rolls are the ocean drive and Chicago bears. Every time I go back to see my family I order sushi for the ride back up north :)
I really enjoyed this spot - it's a great amount of food for the price. The service was fast and the place was clean and had nice music on. We're definitely coming back!
Went there on a Saturday night for the very first night. Restaurant is located inside of a strip mall with plenty of parking. We made reservations but to our surprise there were plenty of open tables. There were plenty of orders by the front desk waiting to be picked up. I would say walk-ins are fine and you will not have to wait much. They have nice ambiance setting with red high end furniture and green background walls, very unique look but nice. Their menu is extensive and divided into lunch specials and dinner. We ordered four different kind of sushi and an appetizer. I would highly recommend their appetizer, Wild Jalapeño. All of the food was delicious and made with high quality ingredients. Overall we had an excellent experience. If you are looking to stay local and want good quality sushi I would recommend this place.
My partner and I stopped in on a Wednesday night, after craving sushi since moving from the city. We had low expectations being as though it is located in a suburban strip mall, however were pleasantly surprised and pleased with our experience. The interior is a lot larger than what we were expecting, and nicely designed. It felt like an upscale dining experience, despite, again, being in a strip mall. We were seated right away and service was standard. There appeared to only be one person working in the front, and one in the kitchen. We ended up ordering the calamari and crab rangoon to start, which came out very fresh and quite large servings of both. So much so that by the time our sushi arrived we were already full! But don't worry... we made room. We tried the Firecracker and the Godzilla. Both were very tasty! We look forward to trying other items on the menu. Overall great experience.
